Presentation: Each capsule contains Omeprazole BP 40 mg as enteric-coated pellets. It is usually available in blister packs.

Indications: Omeben (Omeprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders, including:

• Duodenal ulcer
• Gastric ulcer
• Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD), including symptomatic relief and healing of erosive esophagitis
• Long-term management of acid reflux disease
• Acid-related dyspepsia
• Prevention of NSAID-associated gastric and duodenal ulcers in patients at risk
• Helicobacter pylori eradication (in combination with antibiotics)
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome
• Prophylaxis of acid aspiration during general anesthesia

Dosage and Administration: Omeben 40 capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water and should not be chewed or crushed. It is recommended to take it before a meal, preferably in the morning. The dosage depends on the condition being treated and the physician's instructions.

• Gastric Ulcer: 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks.
• Severe or recurrent Duodenal Ulcer: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks, with a possible extension to 8 weeks.
• Severe Ulcerating Reflux Esophagitis: 20-40 mg once daily for 4-12 weeks.
• For other indications, the dosage will be determined by the physician based on the individual patient's needs.

Side Effects: Omeben (Omeprazole) is generally well-tolerated. Common side effects may include headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, and constipation. Less common side effects can include dizziness, dry mouth, and skin rash. Long-term use may be associated with an increased risk of bone fractures, low magnesium levels, and vitamin B12 deficiency in some individuals.

Precautions: Omeben (Omeprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole or any other components of the formulation. Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver disease and during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor before use. Omeprazole can interact with several other medications.
