Presentation: Omid 10 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Domperidone 10 mg. 

Indications: Omid (Domperidone) is indicated for the relief of symptoms of nausea and vomiting. It is also used to treat:

• Dyspeptic symptom complex often associated with delayed gastric emptying, gastro-esophageal reflux and esophagitis, such as epigastric fullness, abdominal distension, upper abdominal pain, belching, flatulence, early satiety, nausea and vomiting, heartburn with or without regurgitation of gastriccontents.
• Acute nausea and vomiting of functional, organic, infectious, dietetic origin or induced by radiotherapy, drug therapy or migraine.  
• Nausea and vomiting induced by dopamine-agonist anti-Parkinson drugs.
• To speed barium transit in follow-through radiological studies.

Dosage and Administration: Omid 10 tablets should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals.

• Adults: The usual dose is 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets) every 6-8 hours daily. The maximum daily dose is usually 80 mg.
• Children: The usual dose is 0.2-0.4 mg/kg body weight every 6-8 hours daily.
• For acute nausea and vomiting, the maximum treatment duration should not exceed 12 weeks.
• Always follow your doctor's specific instructions regarding the dosage and duration of treatment.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, dry mouth, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Domperidone can increase prolactin levels, which may lead to breast enlargement and soreness (gynecomastia and mastalgia), and galactorrhea (milk production in women who are not breastfeeding). Other possible side effects include thirst, nervousness, drowsiness, skin rash, and itching. In rare cases, extrapyramidal reactions (movement disorders) can occur, especially in children.

Precautions: Omid (Domperidone) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone or any of the excipients, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation, and prolactin-releasing pituitary tumor (prolactinoma). It should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease and in children due to a potential increased risk of extrapyramidal reactions. The use of domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of serious cardiac arrhythmias or sudden cardiac death, particularly at higher doses and in those with pre-existing cardiac conditions or when used with other drugs that prolong the QT interval. Caution is advised during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor before use.

Storage: Store in a dry place away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
