Presentation: Each sachet contains a specific formulation of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Tri-Sodium Citrate Dihydrate, and Glucose Anhydrous. The exact quantities per sachet are mentioned on the product packaging available in Bangladesh. It is available in powder form for oral solution.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of dehydration due to diarrhea and vomiting in adults and children. It helps to restore lost fluids and electrolytes, preventing or correcting dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.

Dosage and Administration:

• Disperse the full contents of one sachet in a specified amount of clean drinking water (usually 500 ml or as directed on the sachet).
• Stir well until the powder is completely dissolved.
• The prepared solution should be given orally.
• Children less than 2 years: 50-100 ml (10 to 20 teaspoonful) after each loose stool or vomiting.
• Children 2 to 10 years: 100-200 ml (½ to 1 glass) after each loose stool or vomiting.
• Adults and children above 10 years: 200-400 ml (1 to 2 glass) after each loose stool or vomiting.
• Continue administration as long as diarrhea or vomiting persists and signs of dehydration are present.
• Discard any unused solution after 12 hours of preparation. Do not mix with hot water or heat the solution.

Side Effects: No significant side effects are known when used as directed. However, if the solution is too concentrated, it may potentially lead to electrolyte imbalance.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with depressed renal function or severe continuing diarrhea, as they may need supplementation with parenteral fluids in addition to oral saline.
• Solutions containing citrate should be used with caution in patients with metabolic alkalosis.
• Solutions containing glucose should be used with caution in patients with known diabetes mellitus.
• Follow the instructions for mixing with the correct amount of water to ensure proper electrolyte balance.

Storage: Store the sachets in a cool and dry place, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
