Orthocal 500 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium. Available in strips.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate BP (equivalent to 500 mg elemental Calcium).

Indications: Indicated for the prevention and treatment of calcium deficiency. Used as a dietary supplement to support bone health and in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, and rickets. May also be recommended during periods of increased calcium demand like pregnancy and lactation, and in growing children and adolescents.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: 1 to 2 tablets one to three times daily or as directed by a physician. Children: Dosage should be determined by a physician based on age and weight. The tablets are usually taken orally, preferably with or after meals for better absorption.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, or stomach upset may occur in some individuals. Hypercalcemia may occur with very high doses.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, severe hypercalciuria, nephrolithiasis (kidney stones), and known hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Caution should be exercised in patients with mild to moderate renal insufficiency, sarcoidosis, and those taking thiazide diuretics or cardiac glycosides. Calcium supplements may interact with certain medications; it is advisable to inform your doctor about all medications you are taking.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
