Ostogen D Forte 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate (elemental source) and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol). Strength typically: Calcium Carbonate 600 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU. Available in strips or bottles. Manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disorders. Also used to ensure adequate calcium intake in conditions such as pregnancy and breastfeeding, osteogenesis, tooth development, and during therapy with anti-seizure medications. May be used as a routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is one tablet twice daily, preferably with or just after a meal to improve absorption, or as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects may include nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, and increased urination. Constipation may occur.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia, hyperthyroidism, renal calculi (kidney stones), nephrolithiasis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Caution should be exercised in patients with pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease. May interact with antacids containing calcium, aluminum, or magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol and other vitamin D3 supplements, digoxin, tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or oxytetracycline.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
