Ostogen Plus 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets. Available in strips. Manufactured by Opsonin Pharma Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Ingredients: Each tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to 600 mg elemental Calcium, Vitamin D3 BP (as Cholecalciferol) 200 IU, Magnesium Oxide BP equivalent to 40 mg Magnesium, Manganese Sulfate Monohydrate BP equivalent to 1.8 mg Manganese, Cupric Oxide equivalent to 1 mg Copper, Boron Citrate equivalent to250 mcg Boron, and Zinc Oxide BP equivalent to 7.5 mg Zinc.

Indications: Indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, to maintain strong bone growth, for the proper functioning of the heart, muscles, and nerves, as a nutritional supplement, for bone development and regeneration, during pregnancy and lactation, and in deficiency states of Calcium, Vitamin D3, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper, Manganese, and Boron.

Dosage and Administration: Adults: 1 film-coated tablet twice daily, preferably one in the morning and one in the evening, with or just after main meals with a full glass of water, or as directed by a physician.

Side Effects: Rarely, mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as constipation, flatulence, nausea, gastric pain, and diarrhea may occur. Occasional skin rash has been reported following Vitamin D3 supplementation.

Precautions: Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcaemia (due to myeloma, bone metastasis, other malignant bone diseases, sarcoidosis, primary hyperparathyroidism, and Vitamin D3 overdosage), severe renal failure, and hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. The risk of hypercalcemia should be considered in patients taking thiazide diuretics. Hypocalcaemia must be avoided in digitalized patients. Certain foods (containing oxalic acid, phosphate, or phytinic acid) may reduce calcium absorption. Calcium salts may reduce the absorption of thyroxin, bisphosphonates, sodium fluoride, quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, or iron;allow a minimum of four hours before taking calcium. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be under the direction of a physician.

Storage: Keep away from light and heat in a dry area. Keep out of reach of children.
