Ostoplus D

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate BP equivalent to elemental Calcium [Specify strength, e.g., 500 mg] and Vitamin D3 BP [Specify strength, e.g., 200 IU or 400 IU]. Available in strips or blister packs of [Specify number, e.g., 30] tablets, manufactured by Desh Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications:Indicated for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency.Used in conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disorders.Also used when there is an increased need for calcium and Vitamin D, such as during pregnancy, lactation, and in elderly patients.May be used as a supplement to ensure adequate intake and as a phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is 1 to 2 tablets daily, preferably with or just after a meal to improve absorption, or as directed by a registered medical practitioner. The dosage may vary depending on the individual's condition and calcium/vitamin D requirements.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects include mild gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, dry mouth, increased thirst, and increased urination. Constipation may also occur.

Precautions:Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia, hyperthyroidism, renal calculi, nephrolithiasis, and Zollinger-Ellison SyndromeCaution should be exercised in patients with pre-existing heart disease or kidney disease.
