Generic Name: Paliperidone (Extended Release)

Strength: Each extended-release tablet contains Paliperidone 1.5 mg.
Indications:
Palimax ER is indicated for the treatment of:
- Schizophrenia, including acute treatment and prevention of recurrence.
- Treatment of schizoaffective disorder, as monotherapy and in combination with antidepressants or mood stabilizers.
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults: The usual starting dose for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder is 6 mg once daily, administered in the morning. Dosage may be adjusted by your doctor in increments of 3 mg over at least 5-day intervals, with a usual range of 3-12 mg daily.
- Renal Impairment: Dosage may need to be adjusted based on kidney function. For moderate to severe renal impairment, the recommended initial dose is 1.5 mg once daily, with a maximum of 3 mg once daily.
- Palimax ER tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid and can be taken with or without food. Do not chew, divide, or crush the tablets.7
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to paliperidone or risperidone, or any excipients in the formulation.
Side Effects:
Common side effects may include:
- Tachycardia (fast heart rate)
- Akathisia (restlessness)
- Somnolence (sleepiness)
- Tremor
- Anxiety
- Weight increase
- Drowsiness
- Dizziness
Precautions:
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, QT prolongation, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, tardive dyskinesia, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, seizures.
- May cause orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure upon standing).
- May affect alertness, vision, and cause sleepiness or dizziness; use caution while driving or operating machinery.
- Monitor blood sugar regularly as it can affect blood sugar levels.
- Avoid alcohol.
Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:
- Pregnancy: Consult your doctor before use as it may be unsafe.
- Lactation: Consult your doctor before breastfeeding as it may pass into breast milk and harm the baby.
Storage:
- Store in a cool and dry place, away from light.
- Keep out of reach of children.
