Panpro 40mg Tablet

Presentation:Each tablet of Panpro 40mg contains Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate INN equivalent to Pantoprazole 40 mg.

Indications:Panpro (Pantoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for the treatment and management of conditions associated with excessive stomach acid production, including:  

• Gastric and duodenal ulcers  
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)  
• Reflux esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus due to acid reflux)  
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome  
• Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers  

It is also used in combination with antibiotics for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.  

Dosage and Administration:Panpro 40mg tablets should be swallowed whole with water, one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning.Do not chew or crush the tablet.

• Gastric and duodenal ulcers: The usual adult dose is 40 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks for duodenal ulcers and 4-8 weeks for gastric ulcers.
• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and reflux esophagitis: The usual adult dose is 40 mg once daily for 4-8 weeks. For maintenance therapy, the dose may be reduced to 20 mg once daily.
• Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: The initial dose is usually 80 mg once daily, which may be adjusted by the physician based on acid secretion measurements.
• Prevention of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers: The usual dose is 20 mg once daily.
• Helicobacter pylori eradication: Pantoprazole 40 mg is usually given twice daily in combination with specific antibiotics for a duration of 7-14 days.

The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a physician based on the individual patient's condition and response to therapy.

Side Effects: Common side effects of Panpro (Pantoprazole) may include:

• Headache  
• Diarrhoea  
• Nausea  
• Vomiting
• Abdominal pain
• Flatulence
• Dizziness  
• Dry mouth  

Less common side effects may include skin rash, pruritus (itching), fatigue, sleep disturbances, and elevated liver enzymes.Long-term use may lead to a slightly increased risk of bone fractures, low magnesium levels, and vitamin B12 deficiency.

Precautions:Panpro (Pantoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or any of the excipients.Caution should be exercised in patients with:

• Severe liver impairment (dosage adjustment may be needed).  
• Kidney disease.  
• History of allergic reactions to other PPIs.

Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, aspantoprazole can interact with certain medicines, such as warfarin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, and methotrexate. 

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Panpro should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus. It is advisable to consulta doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy. Pantoprazole may pass into breast milk.A decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the benefit of the drug to the mother.  

Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.
