Parotin 20

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Paroxetine Hydrochloride BP equivalent to Paroxetine 20 mg. 

Indications: Treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD),and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).May also be used for Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD).

Dosage & Administration: The usual starting dose for adults is 20 mg once daily, preferably in the morning. Dosage may be increased gradually by your doctor, usually in 10 mg increments at intervals of at least one week, up to a maximum of 50 mg daily for depression, SAD, GAD, and PTSD, 60 mg daily for OCD and panic disorder. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. May be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common: Nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth, insomnia, dizziness, increased sweating, fatigue, decreased appetite, constipation, diarrhea, ejaculatory disturbance (in men), anorgasmia (in women). Less common: Anxiety, restlessness, confusion, sleep disturbances, tremor, palpitations, blurred vision. Rare: Serotonin syndrome, seizures, hyponatremia (low sodium levels).

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, heart problems (especially QT prolongation), a history of seizures or bleeding disorders, bipolar disorder, or glaucoma. Use caution with alcohol and other CNS depressants. May increase the risk of suicidal thoughts, especially in children and young adults. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid abrupt discontinuation.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
