Phytocal DX 

Presentation: Film-coated tablets containing Calcium Carbonate (Algae Source) and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), available in strengths of 500 mg elemental Calcium with 200 IU Vitamin D3, and 600 mg elemental Calcium with 400 IU Vitamin D3.

Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate BP (Algae Source) equivalent to elemental Calcium (500 mg or 600 mg), and Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) BP (200 IU or 400 IU).

Indications: Indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis, rickets, osteomalacia, tetany, and hypoparathyroidism. Also used in conditions with increased calcium and Vitamin D3 requirements such as pregnancy and lactation, kidney disease, pancreatitis, and during therapy with anti-seizure medications. May also be used for general Calcium and Vitamin D3 deficiency.

Dosage & Administration: Adults: Usually 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet at night, or as directed by a physician. Best taken with or after a meal to improve absorption.

Side Effects: Common: irregular heartbeat, nausea, dry mouth, weakness, headache, metallic taste, muscle and bone pain, drowsiness. Rare: increased blood calcium, constipation, diarrhea, loss of appetite.

Precautions: Contraindicated in hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, metastatic calcification, hypersensitivity to components. Caution in renal impairment, sarcoidosis, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria. May interact with bisphosphonates, ciprofloxacin, fluorides, iron, levothyroxine, tetracycline, zinc, corticosteroids, thiazide diuretics.

Storage: Store below 30°C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
