Pramax 40 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Pantoprazole Sodium Sesquihydrate equivalent to Pantoprazole 40 mg. It is usually available in blister packs.

Indications: Pramax (Pantoprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders, including:

• Erosive Esophagitis associated with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).  
• Maintenance of healing of Erosive Esophagitis andreduction in relapse rates of daytime and nighttime heartburn symptomsin patients with healed EE.
• Treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions including Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.

Dosage and Administration: Pramax 40 mg tablets should be swallowed whole, one hour before a meal, preferably in the morning. Do not chew or crush the tablets.

• Healing of Erosive Esophagitis: The usual adult dose is 40 mg once daily for up to 8 weeks. For patients who do not heal within 8 weeks, an additional 8-week course may be considered.
• Maintenance of Healing of Erosive Esophagitis: The recommended adult dose is 40 mg once daily.
• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome: The starting dose is usually 40 mg twice daily. Dosage should be adjusted to individual patient needs and continued as long as clinically indicated. Doses up to 240 mg per day have been administered.

Side Effects: Pantoprazole is generally well-tolerated. Common side effects may include headache, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, and flatulence. Less common side effects can include dizziness, dry mouth, and skin rash. Long-term use may be associated with an increased risk of bone fractures, low magnesium levels, and vitamin B12 deficiency in some individuals.

Precautions: Pramax (Pantoprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or any other components of the formulation. Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver disease and during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor before use. Pantoprazole can interact with several other medications.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
