Pred 

Presentation: Pred is a brand name for products containing Prednisone BP or Prednisolone BP. 

Indications: Pred is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including:

• Allergic disorders (e.g., asthma, allergic rhinitis, severe allergic reactions)
• Rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases
• Skin disorders (e.g., eczema, psoriasis)
• Endocrine disorders (e.g., adrenal insufficiency)
• Respiratory diseases (e.g., sarcoidosis)
• Hematologic disorders (e.g., autoimmune hemolytic anemia)
• Gastrointestinal diseases (e.g., ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease)
• Nervous system disorders (e.g., multiple sclerosis exacerbations)
• Eye disorders (e.g., uveitis)
• Kidney disorders (e.g., nephrotic syndrome)
• Certain neoplastic diseases

The specific condition and its severity will determine the appropriate indication and dosage.

Dosage and Administration: Dosage is highly variable and depends on the specific disease being treated, its severity, and the patient's response. The physician will prescribe the appropriate strength and formulation (tablet or oral solution) and the number of doses. • Osteoporosis
• Heart failure
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Psychiatric disorders
• Active infections (that are not being treated with appropriate antibiotics)

Inform your doctor if you have any infections or have recently been exposed to chickenpox or measles. Avoid live vaccinations while taking Pred. Long-term use in children may affect growth and development. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be carefully considered and only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
