Pregan ER 82.5 Tablet

Presentation: Each extended-release tablet contains Pregabalin 82.5 mg.

Indications: Pregan ER (extended-release pregabalin) is indicated for the management of:

• Neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN)
• Postherpetic neuralgia ¹ (PHN)
• Fibromyalgia

Dosage and Administration: Pregan ER tablets should be swallowed whole and must not be crushed, chewed, or divided. It is taken once daily. The dosage is individualized based on patient response and tolerability.

• Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy: The recommended starting dose is 165 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 330 mg once daily within one week based on efficacy and tolerability.
• Postherpetic Neuralgia: The recommended starting dose is 165 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 330 mg once daily within one week based on efficacy and tolerability.
• Fibromyalgia: The recommended starting dose is 165 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 330 mg once daily within one week based on efficacy and tolerability.

The maximum recommended daily dose for all indications is 330 mg once daily.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Dizziness
• Somnolence (drowsiness)
• Headache
• Peripheral edema (swelling of arms and legs)
• Blurred vision
• Weight gain
• Dry mouth
• Difficulty concentrating

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. It's important to discuss any unusual symptoms with your doctor.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with a history of angioedema (severe swelling).
• May cause dizziness and somnolence and impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Advise patients not to drive or operate machinery until they know how Pregan ER affects them.
• May be associated with an increased risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior. Monitor patients for any changes in mood or behavior.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation of Pregan ER to minimize potential withdrawal symptoms. Dosage should be gradually reduced over a period of at least one week.
• Use with caution in patients with pre-existing heart failure.
• Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding; consult your doctor.

Contraindications: Pregan ER is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to pregabalin or any of the excipients.

Drug Interactions: Pregan ER may interact with other central nervous system depressants (e.g., opioids, benzodiazepines) and alcohol, potentially increasing their sedative effects.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
