Prelin 75

Presentation: Each capsule contains 75 mg of Pregabalin.

Indications: Prelin 75 is indicated for:

• Neuropathic pain (nerve pain) in adults.
• As adjunctive therapy in adults with partial onset seizures, with or without secondary generalization.
• Management of Fibromyalgia in adults.
• Management of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in adults.

Dosage and Administration:

• Dosage must be individualized by the treating physician.
• Neuropathic Pain: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.
• Partial Onset Seizures: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day, given in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.
• Fibromyalgia: The recommended dose is 300 to 450 mg per day. Dosing should begin at 75 mg twice a day (150 mg/day) and may be increased to 150 mg twice a day (300 mg/day) within 1 week based on efficacy and tolerability. Patients who do not experience sufficient benefit at 300 mg/day may be further increased to 225 mg twice a day (450 mg/day).
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder: The usual starting dose is 150 mg per day. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 600 mg per day.

It can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Blurred vision
• Weight gain
• Peripheral edema (swelling of the extremities)
• Difficulty with concentration/attention

Less common side effects may include:

• Increased appetite
• Euphoric mood
• Confusion
• Irritability
• Ataxia (lack of coordination)
• Tremor
• Memory impairment

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, heart problems, or diabetes.
• Use with caution in elderly patients.
• Prelin 75 may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.
• Avoid abrupt discontinuation of the medication, as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms. The dosage should be tapered gradually under medical supervision.
• The safety of Prelin 75 during pregnancy has not been fully established. It should only be used if the potential benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus. Consult your doctor before use.
• Pregabalin passes into breast milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking Prelin 75.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
