Progency 10 

Presentation: Each Progency 10 tablet contains 10 mg of dydrogesterone.

Indications: Progency 10 is indicated for various conditions related to progesterone deficiency, including:

• Threatened and habitual miscarriage
• Dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation)
• Endometriosis
• Secondary amenorrhea (absence of menstruation)
• Irregular menstrual cycles
• Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
• Infertility due to luteal insufficiency (problems with the second half of the menstrual cycle)
• Luteal support in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
• Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) to counteract the effects of estrogen on the uterus in women with an intact uterus.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage varies significantly depending on the condition being treated and should be strictly as prescribed by your doctor. Some common examples include:

• Threatened Miscarriage: Usually starts with a higher dose, followed by a maintenance dose.
• Habitual Miscarriage: Typically taken twice daily until the 20th week of pregnancy.
• Dysmenorrhea: Usually taken twice daily from day 5 to day 25 of the menstrual cycle.
• Endometriosis: Can be taken twice or three times daily from day 5 to day 25 of the cycle or continuously.
• Irregular Cycles: Usually taken twice daily from day 11 to day 25 of the cycle.

Progency 10 tablets are for oral use and can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects: The most commonly reported side effects include:

• Migraine/headache
• Nausea
• Menstrual disorders
• Breast pain/tenderness

Other possible side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, dizziness, depression, and mood swings.

Precautions: Progency 10 is contraindicated in individuals with:

• Known hypersensitivity to dydrogesterone or any of the inactive ingredients.
• Known or suspected progestogen-dependent neoplasms (e.g., meningioma).

Caution should be exercised in patients with severe headache, migraine, symptoms suggestive of cerebral ischemia, markedly increased blood pressure, or a history of venous thromboembolism. The cause of any abnormal vaginal bleeding should be determined before starting treatment.

Use in Pregnancy and Breastfeeding:

• Pregnancy: Progency 10 may be used during pregnancy under the guidance of a doctor, particularly in cases of threatened or habitual miscarriage.
• Breastfeeding: It is advised to consult a doctor before using Progency 10 during breastfeeding as it is not known if dydrogesterone passes into breast milk.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
