Prulicon 1 Tablet
Presentation: Prulicon 1 is available as tablets, each containing 1 mg of Prucalopride Succinate. It is a product of Navana Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh. The tablets are usually available in blister packs.
Indications: Prulicon (Prucalopride) is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic constipation in adults in whom laxatives fail to provide adequate relief.
Dosage and Administration: The recommended dose for adults is 2 mg once daily, with or without food, at any time of the day. For older people, the treatment should start with 1 mg once daily, and if needed, the dose can be increased to 2 mg once daily. Prulicon should not be used in children and adolescents younger than 18 years.
In patients with severe renal impairment (GFR <30 ml/min/1.73 m²), the dose is 1 mg once daily. No dose adjustment is required for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic impairment due to limited data.
Side Effects: The most frequently reported adverse reactions associated with Prulicon therapy are headache and gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhoea). These adverse reactions occur predominantly at the start of therapy and usually disappear within a few days with continued treatment.

Uncommon side effects may include increased frequency of passing urine and feeling unwell. Rare side effects include rectal bleeding and migraine.
Precautions: Prulicon is contraindicated in individuals who are hypersensitive to prucalopride or any of the excipients and in patients with renal impairment requiring dialysis. It is also contraindicated in patients with perforation or obstruction of the gut wall, obstructive ileus, severe inflammatory conditions of the intestinal tract (such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis,or toxic megacolon/megarectum),and in patients who have had recent bowel surgery.
Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease, serious lung disease, severe kidney or liver disease. Prulicon may interact with other medications; inform your doctor about all medicines you are taking. If severe diarrhoea occurs, the efficacy of oral contraceptives may be reduced, and an additional contraceptive method is recommended.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Prulicon is not recommended during pregnancy, and women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment.It is not recommended to use Prulicon during breastfeeding due to a lack of human data.
Storage: Store below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
