Quiet XR 200

Presentation: Each extended-release tablet contains 200 mg Quetiapine (as Quetiapine Fumarate).

Indications: Treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic and depressive episodes), and as adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder.

Dosage & Administration: Dosage varies by condition. For schizophrenia in adults, the starting dose is typically 50 mg on Day 1, 100 mg on Day 2, 200 mg on Day 3, and 300 mg on Day 4, given twice daily. Subsequent dosage adjustments are based on clinical response and tolerability, usually within the range of 400 to 800 mg per day. For bipolar disorder and adjunctive treatment of depression, dosage also varies; follow doctor's instructions carefully. Swallow tablets whole, do not crush or chew. Take once daily, preferably in the evening, or as directed by your doctor.

Side Effects: Common: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, increased appetite, weight gain, constipation, increased cholesterol and triglyceride levels, orthostatic hypotension. Less common: Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS), tardive dyskinesia, hyperglycemia, seizures, cataracts, QT prolongation, suicidal thoughts.

Precautions: Inform doctor of heart problems, liver or kidney disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, seizures, low blood pressure, cataracts, or a history of NMS or tardive dyskinesia. Caution with other CNS depressants, including alcohol. May affect blood sugar levels. Monitor for changes in mood or behavior, especially at the start of treatment. Use with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
