Rabnil Mups 20
Presentation: Each Rabnil Mups 20 tablet contains Rabeprazole Sodium BP 20 mg in a Multiple Unit Pellet System (MUPS) formulation, which consists of enteric-coated micro pellets compressed into a tablet. It is usually available in blister packs.
Indications:Rabnil Mups is indicated for the treatment of:
Dosage and Administration: The recommended oral dose is 20 mg once daily in the morning for duodenal and benign gastric ulcers. For erosive or ulcerative GERD, the dose is 20 mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. For long-term GERD management, a maintenance dose of 10 mg or 20 mg once daily can be used. For symptomatic GERD without oesophagitis, the dose is 10 mg once daily. For Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, the starting dose is 60 mg once daily, which may be adjusted up to 120 mg/day. For H. pylori eradication, Rabeprazole 20 mg is given twice daily with specific antibiotics for 7 days.
Rabnil Mups tablets should be swallowed whole and taken in the morning, before eating. Patients should be cautioned not to chew or crush the tablets.
Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, increased or decreased appetite, muscle pain, drowsiness, and dizziness.
Precautions: Rabnil Mups is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole or other proton pump inhibitors. Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Rabeprazole is not recommended during pregnancy or nursing.
Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
