Remophos 667

Presentation:Tablets containing 667 mg of calcium acetate.Remophos is a product of ACI Pharmaceuticals in Bangladesh.  

Indications:Indicated for the treatment of hyperphosphatemia (high levels of phosphate in the blood) in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) who are on dialysis.Calcium acetate acts as a phosphate binder, forming insoluble compounds with phosphate in the gastrointestinal tract, which are then excreted in the feces, thus lowering serum phosphate levels.  

Dosage and Administration: The dosage should be individualized and based on the patient's serum phosphate levels. The usual starting dose for adults is one tablet with each meal. The dosage may be adjusted by a physician to achieve and maintain the target phosphate levels.Remophos 667 tablets should be taken with meals to be effective in binding dietary phosphate.Swallow the tablets whole; do not crush or chew them. Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), nausea, vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain. Regular monitoring of serum calcium and phosphate levels is necessary to manage these potential side effects.

Precautions:Contraindicated in patients with hypercalcemia.Use with caution in patients taking other calcium-containing supplements or vitamin D analogs, as this may increase the risk of hypercalcemia. Patients with advanced CKD may be at higher risk of hypercalcemia. Monitor serum calcium levels regularly. Remophos may interact with certain medications; inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking.

Storage:Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light, heat, and moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
