Indications: Ridon (Domperidone) is indicated for the relief of nausea and vomiting. It is also used for the management of upper gastrointestinal motility disorders such as:
Dosage and Administration: Ridon Suspension should be administered orally. The dosage depends on the age and weight of the patient. It is generally recommended to administer Ridon 15 to 30 minutes before meals.
The duration of treatment should be as short as possible and is usually limited to one week. Shake the bottle well before use. Use a measuring spoon or cup for accurate dosing.
Side Effects: Common side effects of Ridon (Domperidone) may include dry mouth, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances such as abdominal pain or diarrhea. Less common side effects may include dizziness, nervousness, breast tenderness or enlargement, and galactorrhea (milk production).
Precautions: Ridon (Domperidone) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to domperidone or any of the excipients, pituitary tumor (prolactinoma), gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction or perforation, and in patients with known existing prolongation of cardiac conduction intervals or underlying cardiac diseases. Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney disease and in elderly patients. The use of domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorders and cardiac arrest, particularly at higher doses.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: The safety of Ridon during pregnancy has not been established, and it is generally not recommended. Domperidone passes into breast milk and may cause side effects in the breastfed infant; breastfeeding is generally not recommended during treatment.
Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
