Rivatig 1.5

Presentation: Each capsule contains Rivastigmine Tartrate USP equivalent to Rivastigmine 1.5 mg.

Indications: Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe dementia in Alzheimer's disease. Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe dementia in patients with Idiopathic Parkinson's disease.

Dosage & Administration: Initial dose is 1.5 mg twice a day, taken with morning and evening meals. If well-tolerated after a minimum of two weeks, the dose may be increased to 3 mg twice a day. Further increases to 4.5 mg and then 6 mg twice a day may be considered based on tolerability after at least two weeks at each dose level. The maximum recommended daily dose is 6 mg twice a day. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Side Effects: The most commonly reported adverse reactions are gastrointestinal, including nausea and vomiting, especially during dose titration. Other common side effects include dizziness and diarrhea.

Precautions: Use with caution in patients with sick sinus syndrome or conduction defects, respiratory diseases. Cholinergic stimulation may increase gastric acid secretion and potentially exacerbate urinary obstruction and seizures. Monitor body weight. Exercise caution in patients with asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
