Rivo 2 Tablet contains 2 mg of Clonazepam.

Clonazepam belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. It is thought to work by enhancing the activity of a natural brain chemical called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Indications: Rivo 2 is used to treat:

• Panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia.
• Certain seizure disorders, including Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (petit mal variant), akinetic, and myoclonic seizures. It may also be used in patients with absence seizures (petit mal) who have not responded to succinimides.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage is individualized by your doctor based on your condition and response to treatment.

• Adults with Seizure Disorders:The initial dose should not exceed 1.5 mg/day, divided into three doses. Dosage may be increased by 0.5 to 1 mg every 3 days until seizures are controlled or side effects prevent further increase. The maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg. 
• Adults with Panic Disorder: The initial dose is 0.25 mg twice daily. An increase to the target dose of 1 mg/day for most patients may be made after 3 days.
• Pediatric Patients: The initial dose for infants and children (up to 10 years or 30 kg) should be between 0.01 and 0.03 mg/kg/day, not to exceed 0.05 mg/kg/day, given in two or three divided doses.

Rivo 2 tablets can be taken with or without food. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly without consulting your doctor, as withdrawal symptoms can occur.

Side Effects: The most common side effects are related to central nervous system (CNS) depression and include:

• Drowsiness
• Ataxia (impaired coordination)

Other potential side effects include:

• Depression
• Dizziness
• Fatigue
• Impaired coordination
• Abnormal eye movements
• Confusion
• Memory problems

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. Report any unusual or severe symptoms to your doctor immediately.

Precautions:

• Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, including liver or kidney problems, breathing problems, glaucoma, or a history of substance abuse.
• Rivo 2 may cause drowsiness and impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. Use caution until you know how this medication affects you.
• Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Rivo 2, as it can intensify its sedative effects.
• Rivo 2 can be habit-forming and should be used exactly as prescribed. Do not increase the dose or take it for longer than recommended.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding, as clonazepam can harm a developing fetus or nursing infant.

Contraindications: Rivo 2 is contraindicated in patients with:

• Hypersensitivity to benzodiazepines.
• Significant liver disease.
• Acute narrow-angle glaucoma.

Drug Interactions: Rivo 2 can interact with various medications. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are currently taking, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter medications, and herbal supplements. Significant interactions can occur with other CNS depressants, certain antidepressants, and anticonvulsants. 

Storage: Store in a dry place away from light and heat, below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
