Saline-R

Presentation: Nasal drops or nasal spray containing a sterile isotonic saline solution (0.9% sodium chloride). The volume of the container will vary depending on the product available in Bangladesh.

Indications: Indicated for the relief of nasal congestion and dryness caused by colds, allergies, sinusitis, or dry air. Saline-R helps to moisturize the nasal passages, thin mucus secretions, and facilitate their removal, thereby easing breathing. It can also be used to cleanse the nasal passages.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage and administration depend on the age of the individual and the specific product formulation (drops or spray).

• Nasal Drops: For infants and young children, the usual dose is a few drops in each nostril as needed, or as directed by a physician. Ensure the child's head is tilted back.
• Nasal Spray: For older children and adults, the usual dose is one or more sprays into each nostril as needed. Keep the head upright and sniff gently after spraying.

Side Effects: Generally well-tolerated. No significant side effects are typically associated with the use of isotonic saline solutions. In rare cases, mild and temporary nasal stinging or irritation may occur.

However, if nasal irritation persists or worsens, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. To prevent the spread of infection, avoid sharing nasal spray applicators with others.

Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Ensure the container is properly sealed when not in use.
