Secrin 2 

Presentation: Secrin 2 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Letrozole 2.5 mg. It is presented as a film-coated tablet for oral administration, typically supplied in blister packs. The tablet's appearance (color, shape) may vary by manufacturer.

Indications: Secrin is indicated in postmenopausal women for the adjuvant treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer, extended adjuvant treatment following 5 years of tamoxifen, first-line and subsequent treatment of hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer, and pre-operative treatment of hormone receptor-positive, HER-2 negative early breast cancer. It is also indicated for the treatment of anovulatory infertility in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Dosage and Administration: The standard dose is 2.5 mg orally once daily, with or without food. For adjuvant and extended adjuvant therapy, treatment duration is usually 5 years. For advanced breast cancer, continue as long as clinical benefit is observed. For PCOS-related infertility, the usual dose is 2.5 mg once daily from day 3 of the menstrual cycle for 5 days, potentially titrated under specialist guidance.

Side Effects: Common adverse reactions may include hot flushes, fatigue, arthralgia, headache, nausea, and increased sweating. Less common but potentially significant side effects include osteoporosis, bone fractures, vaginal dryness, and mood disturbances.

Precautions: Contraindicated in premenopausal women, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and known letrozole hypersensitivity. Exercise caution in severe renal or hepatic impairment. Monitor bone mineral density due to potential decrease during treatment.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
