Seroquel 100

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains 100 mg of Quetiapine (as Quetiapine Fumarate). The tablets are yellow, round, and biconvex, engraved with "SEROQUEL 100" on one side. Available in blister packs.

Indications: Seroquel 100 is indicated for the treatment of several mental health conditions, including:

• Schizophrenia in adults and adolescents (13-17 years).
• Bipolar disorder, including manic and depressive episodes, in adults and children (10-17 years for manic episodes).
• Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder in adults (as an adjunct to lithium or divalproex).
• Major depressive disorder (as adjunctive therapy in adults).

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Seroquel 100 varies significantly depending on the condition being treated, the severity of symptoms, and the individual patient's response. Your doctor will determine the appropriate starting dose and how often you should take it. The dose is usually gradually increased over the first few days of treatment.

• Seroquel tablets should be swallowed whole and can be taken with or without food.
• Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking Seroquel, as it can affect how the medicine works.
• Be careful about the amount of alcohol you drink, as the combined effect can make you sleepy.
• Do not stop taking Seroquel even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to.

Side Effects:Common side effects of Seroquel may include:  

• Drowsiness 
• Dizziness 
• Dry mouth 
• Increased appetite 
• Weight gain 
• Constipation 
• Upset stomach¹ 
• Feeling weak
• Swelling of arms or legs
• Low blood pressure when standing up (orthostatic hypotension)
• Increased blood sugar levels
• Blurred vision
• Abnormal dreams
• Feeling irritated
• Changes in speech
• Increased prolactin levels

Less common but potentially serious side effects can occur. It is important to contact your doctor immediately if you experience any unusual or severe symptoms.

Precautions: Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, including:

• Heart problems or a history of irregular heartbeat
• Liver problems
• Kidney problems
• Diabetes or a family history of diabetes
• High cholesterol or triglyceride levels
• History of seizures
• Cataracts
• Thyroid problems
• Sleep apnea
• Enlarged prostate or difficulty urinating
• Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS)
• Tardive Dyskinesia (TD)
• Low white blood cell count

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Seroquel may not be safe to use during these times.

Storage: Store below 30°C (86°F), protected from moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
