Sertal 100 typically contains Sertraline Hydrochloride equivalent to 100 mg of Sertraline. Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant.

Indications:

Sertal (Sertraline) is used to treat various mental health conditions, including:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) 
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) 
• Panic Disorder 
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) 
• Social Anxiety Disorder(Social Phobia)
• Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

Dosage and Administration:

The usual starting dose for depression, OCD, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder is typically 50 mg once daily. However, your doctor may start you on a lower dose and gradually increase it based on your response and tolerability. For PTSD and PMDD, the starting dose is usually 25 mg once daily, increasing to 50 mg daily after one week. The maximum recommended dose is usually 200 mg per day. Sertal tablets should be taken orally once daily, either in the morning or evening, and can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Sertraline can include nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, loss of appetite, insomnia, drowsiness, increased sweating, tremor, and sexual dysfunction. These side effects are often mild and may decrease over time as your body adjusts to the medication.

Precautions:

Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver problems, seizures, bipolar disorder, bleeding disorders, or glaucoma. Sertraline can interact with other medications, including MAO inhibitors, other antidepressants, and certain pain relievers.
