Sertal 25 contains Sertraline Hydrochloride equivalent to 25 mg of Sertraline. Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It is manufactured by Drug International Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications:

Sertal (Sertraline) is used to treat various mental health conditions, including:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) 
• Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) 
• Panic Disorder 
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) 
• Social Anxiety Disorder(Social Phobia)
• Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

Dosage and Administration:

The starting dose for panic disorder, PTSD, and social anxiety disorder is typically 25 mg once daily, increasing to 50 mg daily after one week. For depression and OCD, the usual starting dose is 50 mg once daily. Your doctor may adjust the dose based on your response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 200 mg per day. Sertal tablets should be taken orally once daily, either in the morning or evening, and can be taken with or without food.

Side Effects:

Common side effects of Sertraline can include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, loss of appetite, weight changes, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, and increased sweating.

Precautions:

Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver problems, seizures, bipolar disorder, bleeding disorders, or glaucoma. Sertraline can interact with other medications, including MAO inhibitors and other antidepressants. Be aware of potential mood changes, anxiety, agitation, and suicidal thoughts, especially at the beginning of treatment and when the dose is changed.
