Sitap 50 

Presentation: Each tablet contains Sitagliptin 50 mg. Available in strips.

Indications: Sitap is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic medications like metformin, sulfonylureas, or thiazolidinediones.

Dosage and Administration: The recommended dose of sitagliptin is 100 mg once daily or 50 mg twice daily. It can be taken with or without food. If used in combination with a sulfonylurea or insulin, a lower dose of the sulfonylurea or insulin may be considered to reduce the risk of hypoglycemia. Follow the physician's instructions.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include headache, upper respiratory tract infection, and nasopharyngitis. Hypoglycemia can occur when sitagliptin is used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas. Less common side effects may include nausea and other gastrointestinal disturbances.

Precautions: Should not be used in patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis. Dosage adjustment may be needed in patients with moderate or severe renal impairment. Monitor for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
