Sizopin 25

Presentation: Each tablet contains 25 mg Clozapine.

Indications: Treatment of schizophrenia in patients who have not responded well to or could not tolerate other antipsychotic medications. May also be used to manage severe mental health problems in patients with Parkinson's disease when other treatments have not worked.

Dosage & Administration: The starting dose is usually 12.5 mg once or twice on the first day, then increased gradually by your doctor. The usual maintenance dose is between 200 and 450 mg per day, divided into doses. Take as directed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Side Effects: Common side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, fast heartbeat, low blood pressure, dry mouth, feeling sick, constipation, increased saliva, sweating, weight gain, and blurred vision. Serious side effects can include a severe drop in white blood cells (agranulocytosis), seizures, heart problems, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS).

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart problems, liver or kidney disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, prostate problems, or a history of low white blood cell count. Regular blood tests are needed to monitor your white blood cell count. Avoid alcohol. May cause dizziness and drowsiness. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
