Solupred 8

Presentation: Each tablet of Solupred 8 contains 8 mg of methylprednisolone.

Indications: Solupred (methylprednisolone) is a corticosteroid indicated for the treatment of a wide variety of conditions, including severe allergic reactions, asthma, rheumatic disorders, skin and eye disorders, and systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE). It works by reducing inflammation and suppressing the body's immune response.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Solupred 8 varies depending on the condition being treated and the patient's response. It is usually taken orally once daily, preferably in the morning, with or without food. The doctor will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions carefully and not to stop taking the medication abruptly without consulting them.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include increased appetite, weight gain, fluid retention, mood changes, trouble sleeping, increased blood sugar, and increased blood pressure. Long-term use may lead to more serious side effects such as osteoporosis, muscle weakness, increased risk of infection, glaucoma, and cataracts.

Precautions: Solupred is contraindicated in patients with systemic fungal infections and known hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone or any of its components. Caution should be exercised in patients with diabetes mellitus, heart failure, high blood pressure, kidney disease, liver disease, osteoporosis, peptic ulcer, glaucoma, and certain infections. Live vaccines should not be given to patients receiving immunosuppressive doses of corticosteroids.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
