Sucotab 80 

Presentation:Each tablet contains Gliclazide BP 80 mg.Available in strips.  

Indications:Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise, and weight loss alone are not adequate to control blood sugar levels.  

Dosage and Administration: The usual starting dose is 40-80 mg daily, taken orally before a meal (preferably breakfast). The dose may be gradually increased up to 320 mg daily in divided doses, based on blood glucose levels and as directed by a physician. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not chew or crush.  

Side Effects:Common side effects include hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), weight gain, headache, nausea, and dizziness.  

Precautions: Contraindicated in type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe kidney or liver disease, and hypersensitivity to sulfonylureas. Use with caution in patients with heart disease, thyroid disease, or hormonal disorders. Alcohol consumption should be avoided. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light.Keep out of reach of children.
