Suma Nasal Spray

Presentation: Each spray delivers Sumatriptan BP 10 mg. It is an aqueous suspension for topical administration to the nasal mucosa using a metered spray pump.

Indications: Suma Nasal Spray is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine headaches with or without aura in adults. It should only be used if a clear diagnosis of migraine has been established and is not for preventing migraine attacks or treating cluster headaches.

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose for adults is a single spray of 10 mg into one nostril. If the headache returns or if there is a partial response, a second 10 mg dose may be administered after at least one hour. The maximum dose in 24 hours is 30 mg (three sprays). Follow the instructions provided with the spray for proper administration, including gently blowing the nose beforehand and sniffing gently while spraying.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include a bad or unusual taste, nasal discomfort, throat irritation, burning sensation in the nose or throat, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and a feeling of warmth or flushing. Less common but potentially serious side effects can include chest pain, shortness of breath, fast or irregular heartbeat, and symptoms of a stroke. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any severe side effects.

Precautions: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, or other circulatory problems. It is contraindicated in individuals with ischemic heart disease, coronary vasospasm, uncontrolled hypertension, or a history of stroke or transient ischemic attack. Use with caution if you have risk factors for heart disease. Avoid using with other triptans or ergot-containing medications within 24 hours.

Storage: Store as directed on the product packaging, usually at room temperature, away from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.
