💊 T-Cef (Cefixime)
T-Cef is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is "bactericidal," meaning it kills a wide range of bacteria by preventing them from building their cell walls. It is highly stable against the enzymes (beta-lactamases) that bacteria often use to resist other antibiotics like penicillin.
📋 Indications
T-Cef is used to treat various acute bacterial infections:
- Upper Respiratory (URTI): Ear infections (otitis media) and throat infections.
- Lower Respiratory: Bronchitis.
- Urinary Tract (UTI): Cystitis and kidney infections (pyelonephritis).
- Other: Typhoid fever.
