Presentation:Each film-coated tablet contains Rabeprazole Sodium INN equivalent to Rabeprazole 10 mg.
Indications:Tagus (Rabeprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders, including:
Dosage and Administration:Tagus 10mg tablets should be swallowed whole and taken once daily, preferably in the morning before food.
The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a physician based on the individual patient's condition.
Side Effects: Common side effects of Rabeprazole (the active ingredient in Tagus) may include headache, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and flatulence. Less common side effects can include dry mouth, dizziness, insomnia, and rash. As with other PPIs, long-term use may be associated with an increased risk of bone fractures, low magnesium levels, and vitamin B12 deficiency in some individuals.
Precautions: Tagus (Rabeprazole) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rabeprazole, other PPIs, or any of the excipients. Gastric malignancy should be excluded before initiating therapy. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Rabeprazole can interact with other drugs that are dependent on gastric pH for absorption, such as ketoconazole and digoxin. It may also affect the metabolism of certain drugs metabolized by CYP2C19.Concomitant use with warfarin should be monitored due to the potential for increased INR and prothrombin time.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:Rabeprazole should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus.It is not knownif rabeprazole is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when administering Tagus to a nursing mother.
Storage:Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
