Tenoloc 50

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Atenolol BP 50 mg. 

Indications: Tenoloc is indicated for the management of:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure).
• Angina pectoris (heart-related chest pain).
• Cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythm).
• It is also used to reduce the risk of death after a heart attack.

Dosage and Administration: The dosage is individualized and determined by the physician.

• Hypertension: The usual starting dose is 25-50 mg daily, which may be increased gradually to 50-100 mg daily.
• Angina Pectoris: The usual dose is 100 mg daily, given as a single dose or in two divided doses.
• Arrhythmias: The usual dose is 50-100 mg daily.
• Post-Myocardial Infarction: In hemodynamically stable patients, treatment is usually initiated with intravenous atenolol followed by 50 mg orally twice daily or 100 mg orally once daily for 6-9 days.

Tenoloc tablets are administered orally and can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Follow your physician's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects may include:

• Bradycardia (slow heart rate).
• Cold extremities.
• Dizziness.
• Fatigue.
• Hypotension (low blood pressure).

Less common side effects can include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, and depression.

Precautions: Inform your physician if you have a history of heart failure, slow heart rate, severe circulation problems, low blood pressure, asthma or other breathing problems, diabetes, kidney problems, or thyroid disorders. Tenoloc should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may interact with other medications, including other blood pressure medications, heart medications, and certain pain relievers. Do not stop taking this medication suddenly, as it can worsen heart problems.

Storage: Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
