Indications
Terbex is indicated for the treatment of various fungal infections:
Tablet (Oral):Onychomycosis (fungal infection of the toenail or fingernail) due to dermatophytes (Tinea Unguium).
Granules (Oral):Tinea Capitis (scalp ringworm).
Cream (Topical): Fungal infections of the skin caused by Trichophyton species (e.g., Tinea Corporis/Cruris/Pedis), cutaneous Candidiasis, and Pityriasis Versicolor.
1% Spray (Topical):Tinea infections of the skin and Pityriasis Versicolor.
Pharmacology
Terbinafine, an Allylamine antifungal, kills fungal cells by inhibiting the Squalene Epoxidase enzyme. This causes Squalene to accumulate, increasing the cell membrane's permeability, which leads to fungal cell death.
