Thyrin 25 

Presentation: Thyrin 25 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Levothyroxine Sodium 25 mcg. It is usually presented as a small tablet with a specific color, often orange or white, and may have markings or a score line depending on the manufacturer.It is typically available in blister packs or bottles containing a specific number of tablets.  

Indications: Thyrin is indicated as replacement therapy for hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. It helps to restore normal thyroid hormone levels, which are essential for regulating metabolism and energy.Thyrin 25 may also be used in the management of goiter (enlarged thyroid gland) and as part of a treatment plan for certain types of thyroid cancer.

Dosage and Administration:The dosage of Thyrin must be individualized based on the patient's age, weight, medical condition, and response to treatment.It is crucial to follow your doctor's instructions precisely.

• Thyrin 25 is usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes to one hour before breakfast, to ensure optimal absorption.  
• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.  
• Consistent timing of the dose each day is important for maintaining stable hormone levels.  
• Your doctor will monitor your thyroid hormone levels with regular blood tests (TSH, T4) and adjust your dosage as needed to achieve and maintain the correct hormonal balance.
• It may take several weeks for the full effects of Thyrin to be noticeable. Do not stop taking the medication or change the dose without consulting your doctor.

Side Effects: Side effects of Thyrin are usually minimal when the correct dosage is taken. However, if the dose is too high, it can lead to symptoms of hyperthyroidism, such as rapid or irregular heartbeat, weight loss, increased appetite, heat intolerance, excessive sweating, nervousness, anxiety, irritability, tremors, and insomnia. Less common side effects may include temporary hair loss or changes in menstrual periods.

Precautions: Thyrin is contraindicated in patients with untreated hyperthyroidism, recent myocardial infarction, or known allergy to levothyroxine sodium or any of the tablet's ingredients. Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, or adrenal insufficiency. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking, as some can interact with levothyroxine, affecting its absorption or the body's response.  

Storage:Store below 25°C or 30°C (refer to the specific product packaging for the exact storage temperature), protected from light and moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
