Timex 25

Presentation: Each tablet of Timex 25 contains Clomipramine Hydrochloride BP 25 mg. It is typically available in blister packs containing strips of tablets, with the number of tablets per pack determined by the manufacturer in Bangladesh (e.g., Orion Pharma Ltd.).

Indications: Timex (Clomipramine) is indicated for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), major depressive disorder (MDD), and depression. It is also used to treat phobias and panic attacks, cataplexy associated with narcolepsy, and sometimes nocturnal enuresis in children (though not generally recommended).

Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Timex should be individualized and determined by a registered medical practitioner.

• Depression: The usual adult dose ranges from 10 mg to 150 mg daily, with higher doses sometimes needed in severe cases.
• OCD and Phobias: The usual adult dose ranges from 10 mg to 150 mg daily.
• Cataplexy: The usual adult dose ranges from 10 mg to 75 mg daily.
• Elderly: Elderly patients often require lower doses due to a higher risk of side effects.

Timex tablets are administered orally and should be swallowed whole with water. It may be taken as a single dose at night or in divided doses during the day. It's important to continue taking the medicine as prescribed, even if you don't feel better immediately, as it can take up to 4 weeks to work.

Side Effects: Very common side effects include increased appetite and weight gain, headache, dizziness, nausea, constipation, dry mouth, increased sweating, shaking hands (tremor), difficulty passing urine, problems with vision, fatigue or sleepiness, sexual disturbances, and restlessness.

Precautions: Timex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clomipramine or other tricyclic antidepressants, those taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have taken them within the last 14 days, and during the acute recovery phase of myocardial infarction. Caution should be exercised in patients with epilepsy, overactive thyroid gland, adrenal gland tumors, low blood pressure, glaucoma, severe constipation, suicidal thoughts, head injury, brain damage, those undergoing electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), heart problems, low potassium levels, schizophrenia or other mental health conditions, blood disorders, liver or kidney disease, and difficulties in passing urine. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Timex as it can increase drowsiness.

Storage: Store Timex 25 mg tablets below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
