Presentation: Each tablet contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 50 mg. Tomium is a brand name marketed by The White Horse Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Indications: Tomium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is an antispasmodic agent indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain associated with smooth muscle spasms, particularly in the digestive and urogenital systems. It is used for conditions such as:

• Dysentery
• Diarrhoea
• Gastroenteritis
• Biliary colic
• Enterocolitis
• Cholecystitis
• Colonopathies
• Mild cystitis
• Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dosage is 100 to 300 mg daily in divided doses as required, typically 2 to 6 tablets (50 mg each) per day. The tablets should be swallowed whole with a sufficient amount of water. The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by the physician based on the severity of the symptoms and the patient's response.

Side Effects: Tiemonium Methylsulphate may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like the risk of hypotension and tachycardia, especially in the case of injectionformulations (though this is for the tablet form). Other potential side effects associated with anticholinergic drugs may include dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, and urinary retention.

Precautions: Tomium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) must not be used in patients with glaucoma (acute pain in the eyeball with disorders of vision) or difficulty passing urine due to prostate disorders. Precautions should be exercised for the treatment of patients with disorders of the prostate, serious diseases of the kidney or liver, cardiac disorders,thyroid disorders, chronic bronchitis, and certain gastrointestinal diseases. The risks of visual disturbances can make it dangerous to drive or usemachines.  

Use in Pregnancyand Lactation: The use of this drug is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation unless otherwise indicated by a physician.

Storage: Do not store above 30°C. Keep away from light and out of the reach of children.
