Tridyl 2

Presentation: Each tablet contains 2 mg Trihexyphenidyl Hydrochloride.

Indications: Used as an add-on treatment for all forms of Parkinson's disease (idiopathic, postencephalitic, arteriosclerotic). Also helps control movement disorders caused by certain medications (like those used for mental illness).

Dosage & Administration: The usual starting dose is 1 mg on the first day, which may be increased by 2 mg every three to five days until a total daily dose of 6 to 10 mg is reached. This total amount is usually divided into three doses taken at mealtimes. For drug-induced movement disorders, the dose varies but is usually between 5 and 15 mg per day. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

Side Effects: Common side effects are those of anticholinergic drugs, including dry mouth, blurred vision, dizziness, mild nausea, nervousness, and drowsiness. Less common side effects can include constipation, difficulty urinating, rapid heartbeat, and dilated pupils. Confusion and agitation can occur, especially in older adults or with high doses.

Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have glaucoma (especially narrow-angle), trouble urinating, an enlarged prostate, blockages in the digestive system, a rapid heartbeat, or are allergic to trihexyphenidyl. Use with caution if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, or liver or kidney problems. May cause drowsiness and affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol.

Storage: Store below 30°C, protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
