Tynium 50 

Presentation: Each film-coated tablet contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 50 mg. Tynium 50 is a product of ACI Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh and is usually available in blister packs.  

Indications: Tynium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is an antispasmodic drug that reduces muscle spasms of the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system. It is also indicated for the treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases such as gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery, biliary colic, enterocolitis, cholecystitis, mild cystitis, symptomatic nephritic colic, and spasmodic dysmenorrhoea.  

Dosage and Administration: The usual dose for adults is 1-2 tablets (50-100 mg) two to three times daily, as needed. The maximum daily dose is usually 300 mg. For children, the dosage is typically 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses. The tablet should be swallowed with water. Follow the dosage instructions provided by your doctor.

Side Effects: In some individuals, Tynium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) may cause:

• Hypotension (low blood pressure)  
• Tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) Less common side effects may include:
• Dry mouth
• Difficulty with micturition (urination)
• Visual disturbances
• Constipation

Precautions: Tynium should not be used in patients with:

• Urethroprostatic disorders where there is a risk of urine retention.
• Risk of angle-closure glaucoma. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tiemonium Methylsulphate. Caution should be exercised in patients with:
• Disorders of the prostate
• Chronic bronchitis
• Coronary insufficiency
• Ambient hyperthermia
• Renal or hepatic insufficiency The risk of visual disturbances may make driving or operating machinery dangerous.

Storage: Keep in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children. Store below 30°C.
