It should be used with caution in patients with renal dysfunction due to the possibility of increased aluminum absorption and potential accumulation. Small amounts of aluminumare absorbed and may accumulate. The concomitant use of other aluminum-containing medications is not recommended. Bezoars have been reported, mainly in severely ill patients with delayed gastric emptying or those receiving enteral tube feedings.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Safety in pregnant women has not been established, and Ulfix should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. It is not known whether this drug is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercisedwhen administering to breastfeeding women.
