Precautions: Valex CR should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to valproate or with liver disease. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or in women of childbearing potential unless the clinical need outweighs the potential risk. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, systemic lupus erythematosus, and in breastfeeding mothers. Sudden withdrawal of therapy should be avoided.
