Vertina-D

Presentation: Delayed-release tablets containing Doxylamine Succinate BP 10 mg and Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 10 mg.

Indications:Treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy in women who do not respond to conservative management.  

Dosage & Administration:Initially,take one tablet orally at bedtime (Day 1). If symptoms are controlled the next day, continue with one tablet daily at bedtime only. If symptoms persist on Day 2, increase the dose to one tablet in the morning and one tablet at bedtime. The maximum recommended dose is two tablets per day (one in the morning and one at bedtime). Take on an empty stomach with a glass of water. Swallowthe tablets whole; do not crush, chew, or split them. Take daily and not as needed.

Side Effects: May cause sleepiness.

Precautions: Do not take if you are allergic to Doxylamine Succinate, other similar antihistamines, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, or any inactive ingredients in the formulation. Use is not recommended if you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Concurrent use with alcohol and other CNS depressants (like sedatives and tranquilizers) is not recommended. May cause drowsiness, so avoid activities requiring mental alertness like driving or operating heavy machinery. Use with caution if you have asthma, increased pressure in the eye, narrow-angle glaucoma, peptic ulcer, blockage in the stomach or intestines, or urinary bladder-neck obstruction.

Pregnancy & Lactation: This medicine is intended for use in pregnancy and is classified as Pregnancy Category A, meaning it is considered safe for use during pregnancy. Both ingredients can pass into breast milk, so caution should be exercised while breastfeeding.

Storage: Protect from light and moisture, store below 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
