Vesifen 10 

Presentation:Each film-coated tablet contains Solifenacin Succinate INN 10 mg.Vesifen is a brand name marketed by Nuvista Pharma Ltd.in Bangladesh. It is usually available in blister packs.

Indications:Vesifen (Solifenacin) is an antimuscarinic agent indicated for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) with symptoms of:  

• Urinary frequency  
• Urinary urgency  
• Urge urinary incontinence  

Dosage and Administration: The recommended starting dose is 5 mg once daily. Based on individual patient response and tolerability, the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily.Vesifen tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid and can be taken with or without food.  

Side Effects:Common side effects may include dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, dyspepsia (indigestion), and urinary tract infection.Less common side effects can include dizziness, somnolence (drowsiness), fatigue, nausea, and vomiting. Rarely, more serious side effects such as angioedema or hallucinations may occur.  

Precautions:Vesifen (Solifenacin) is contraindicated in patients with urinary retention, severe gastrointestinal conditions (including toxic megacolon), myasthenia gravis, narrow-angle glaucoma, and known hypersensitivity to solifenacin or any of the excipients.It should be used with caution in patients with significant bladder outflow obstruction, risk factors for QT prolongation, autonomic neuropathy, hiatal hernia/gastroesophageal reflux disease, and hepatic or renal impairment.  

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies with solifenacin in pregnant women. It should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is not known whethersolifenacin is excreted in human milk.Caution should be exercised when administering Vesifen to a nursing woman.

Storage: Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
