Vildapin Plus 500

Presentation:Each film-coated tablet contains 50 mg of vildagliptin and 500 mg of metformin hydrochloride.

Indications:Vildapin Plus is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellituswhen treatment with both vildagliptin andmetformin is appropriate.This includes:

• Patients not adequately controlled on metformin hydrochloride alone.  
• Patients already treated with vildagliptin and metformin hydrochloride as separate tablets.  

Dosage and Administration:The usual starting dose is one tablet twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, with meals.Dosage should be individualized based on the patient's current regimen, effectiveness, and tolerability, while not exceeding the maximum daily dose of 100mg vildagliptin. Patients already taking vildagliptin and metformin as separate tablets may be switched to Vildapin Plus containing the same doses of each component.

Side Effects:Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headache.Hypoglycemia may occur when Vildapin Plus is used in combination with other antidiabetic agents such as sulfonylureas or insulin.  

Precautions: Vildapin Plus is contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis, including diabetic ketoacidosis,and known hypersensitivity tovildagliptin or metformin hydrochloride. Caution should be exercised in patients with moderate renal impairment, heart failure, and hepatic impairment. Alcohol consumption should be limited.

Storage:Store below 30°C, protected from moisture.Keep out of reach of children.
