Visceral 50 Tablet

Presentation: Visceral 50 is available as film-coated tablets, each containing Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 50 mg. Visceral 50 is a product of Ibn Sina Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh and is usually available in blister packs.

Indications: Visceral (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is an antispasmodic drug indicated for the symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system. It is also indicated for the treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases. This includes conditions such as:  

• Gastroenteritis  
• Diarrhoea  
• Dysentery  
• Biliary colic  
• Enterocolitis  
• Cholecystitis  
• Colonopathies  
• Mild cystitis  
• Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea  

Dosage and Administration:   Visceral 50 tablets are for oral administration. The usual dosage for adults is 2 to 6 tablets (100-300 mg) daily in divided doses as needed. It is recommended to follow the physician's instructions regarding the dose and frequency of administration.

Side Effects: The most common side effects of Visceral (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) may include:

• Hypotension (low blood pressure)
• Tachycardia (rapid heart rate)

Less common side effects may include dry mouth and visual disturbances.

Precautions: Visceral (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is contraindicated in patients with:

• Urethroprostatic disorders involving a risk of urine retention.
• Risk of angle-closure glaucoma.
• Tachycardia.

Caution should be taken during the treatment of patients with:

• Disorders of the prostate.
• Chronic bronchitis.  
• Coronary insufficiency.  
• Ambient hyperthermia.  
• Renal and hepatic insufficiency.  

The risk of visual disturbances can make it dangerous to drive or use machines.  

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation: Animal studies with Tiemonium Methylsulphate have not revealed any teratogenic effects. However, in the absence of sufficient human data, prudence should be the rule for pregnant women, and it should be used only if clearly needed and under medical advice. For nursing mothers, although no problems have been reported with normal use, caution should be exercised and medical advice sought before use.

Storage: Keep in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
