Viset Syrup - (10mg/5ml) contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 10 mg per 5 ml . It is manufactured by Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Ltd.  

Indications:

Viset syrup is an antispasmodic medication used to relieve muscle spasms and pain in the:  

• Intestine (bowel)  
• Biliary system (gallbladder and bile ducts)  
• Bladder  
• Uterus  

It is recommended for the treatment of pain associated with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal and biliary tracts, as well as spasm and pain in urological and gynecological conditions.  

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: The usual dose is 5-15 ml (1-3 teaspoonfuls) three times daily.
• Children: The dosage is 3 ml/kg body weight daily in 3 divided doses.
  • For a 10 kg child: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) 3 times daily.
  • For a 15 kg child: 3 teaspoonfuls (15 ml) 3 times daily.

Contraindications:

Viset syrup should not be used in the following conditions:

• Glaucoma (acute pain in the eyeball with disorders of vision)  
• Difficulty in urinating due to prostate or bladder disorders
• Breast-feeding
• Gluten intolerance

Side Effects:

Some patients may experience undesirable effects such as:

• Dry mouth  
• Thickened bronchial secretions
• Dry eye
• Visual disturbances  
• Cardiac disorders (heart problems)
• Constipation
• Urinary disorders
• Irritation
• Mental confusion (in elderly patients)
• Hypotension (low blood pressure)  
• Tachycardia (fast heart rate)  

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:

• Pregnancy: Use of this drug is generally not recommended during pregnancy unless specifically indicated by a physician.
• Lactation: The use of this drug is contraindicated while breast-feeding. If it is considered necessary, breast-feeding should be stopped.

Precautions and Warnings:

Caution should be taken in patients with:

• Prostate disorders
• Serious kidney or liver diseases
• Cardiac disorders
• Thyroid disorders
• Chronic bronchitis
• Certain gastrointestinal diseases

The risk of visual disturbances may make it dangerous to drive or operate machinery.  

Drug Interactions:

No known drug interactions have been reported. However, it is always wise to inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking.

Storage:

Store in a cool and dry place below 30°C, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
