Vonofast 20 

Presentation: Vonofast 20 Tablet, available in Bangladesh, contains Vonoprazan Fumarate 20 mg.

Indications: Vonofast (Vonoprazan) is indicated for the treatment of acid-related disorders including:

• Gastric ulcer
• Duodenal ulcer
• Reflux esophagitis
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers associated with low-dose aspirin
• Prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers associated with NSAID use
• As part of Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy in the following conditions: gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, after endoscopic resection of early gastric cancer, or Helicobacter pylori gastritis.

Dosage and Administration: The usual adult dose for oral administration is 20 mg of Vonoprazan once daily for gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and reflux esophagitis. The dosage may be adjusted based on the patient's condition and response to treatment, as directed by a physician.

• For the prevention of recurrence of gastric or duodenal ulcers associated with low-dose aspirin or NSAID use, the usual adult dose is 10 mg once daily. If efficacy is inadequate, the dosage may be increased up to 20 mg once daily.
• For Helicobacter pylori eradication, Vonoprazan 20 mg is typically administered twice daily in combination with specific antibiotics for a duration determined by the physician.
• Vonofast can be taken without regard to food or the timing of food intake.

Side Effects: Common side effects reported with Vonofast (Vonoprazan) may include:

• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Drug eruption
• Nausea
• Indigestion
• Bloating
• High blood pressure
• Urinary tract infection

Less common side effects may include stomach inflammation and stomach pain.

Precautions: Vonofast (Vonoprazan) is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Vonoprazan or any of the excipients and in patients receiving atazanavir sulphate, nelfinavir, or rilpivirine hydrochloride. Caution should be exercised in the following conditions:

• Patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity.
• During treatment, the course of the disease should be closely observed, and the minimum therapeutic need should be considered.
• Use in pregnant women or women with the possibility of being pregnant should only occur if the benefits outweigh the potential risks.
• Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment with Vonoprazan.
• Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Vonoprazan.

Storage: Store below 30°C, in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
